The pharmaceutical client wanted a website with a shop function and a large image and knowledge database of the antibodies and tissues offered, which could also be ordered directly. The website needed to be highly visual and tailored to the specific working methods of pathology in the field of tumor diagnostics. Furthermore, a quiz was to be included where users could test and deepen their knowledge.
The customer's wish to depict the common pathology procedures involving tissues and antibodies on their website and to make this available as a tool for the end customer in the webshop proved to be a significant challenge. This required us to delve into a specialized field to ensure the best possible representation of antibodies and tissues in a highly complex environment.
Following an intensive concept phase in collaboration with the client, we began implementation and, based on Medusa JS and Strapi as a headless CMS, created a top-tier online shop precisely tailored to the needs of tumor pathology. The unique comparison mode allows pathologists to visualize the effectiveness of different antibodies on the same tissue type, instantly recognizable by their familiar staining. The integrated quiz, developed in partnership with MS validated antibodies, allows users to test and expand their knowledge of IHC; sources and publications are linked for each answer.
Content is centrally managed and statically stored within the CMS. We developed a script that automates the import of large datasets from external sources, significantly simplifying content maintenance. Individual products within the CMS are assigned fixed schemas that enable targeted maintenance and filtering, and pre-built components ensure the customization of individual pages.
The solution enables pathologists to quickly navigate the site and its products, thanks to its high level of familiarity. Automated data import saves time and reduces potential errors in content maintenance. Flexible components and fixed templates allow the client to structure content effectively and customize the website. The quiz provides a fun and engaging addition for website users, while also connecting them with partner companies.
